Register in Person: You can register in person on the day - You must register at least 1 hour before race start. Race Schedule: 9:00am Race briefing (at Apollo Bay Surf Lifesaving Club) 9:15am Race start Wild Dog 5km Run: Starting on the beach in front of the Apollo Bay Surf Lifesaving Club, the run takes you east along the beach and down to the turn around point at Wild Dog Creek. You will run 200m back along the beach and then join onto the foreshore sand dune trail. Following the trail west back towards the surf club, you rejoin back onto the beach, with a 500m beach run to the finish line. Wild Dog 10km Run: The same start time and routing as the 5km run except on the return to the surf club, the 10km run continues west along Apollo Bay main beach to the harbour, then competitors run up Harbour Road and along the marked track next to Trafalger St. Turning left down Barham River stairs and follow the Barham River downstream to the head of the river where competitors cross the Barham river (ankle depth). Continue west and join onto the foreshore sand dune trail to Marengo and then back onto the beach for the run back to Apollo Bay Surf Club. Cross the Barham River and retrace your footsteps back to the surf club and the finish line. Wild Dog 5km Run Male & Female Race Categories: 10-14 Nipper 15-17 Junior 18-39 Open 40+ Masters Wild Dog 10km Run Male & Female Race Categories: 16-39 Open 40+ Masters Competitors can enter and collect prizes in only ONE category. Once a competitor has competed in the event, they cannot change categories. Prizes/Medallions will be awarded to ALL RACE CATEGORIES (1st, 2nd & 3rd). Race Confirmation & Race Kit: Check-in for Race Confirmation and pick up your Race Kit (including Race Number from 7.00am – 8.00am on Saturday 27th February 2010 or 7:30pm – 10:30pm on Friday 26th February 2010 at the Apollo Bay Surf Lifesaving Club. Race Rules: • Official chest numbers to be clearly displayed on the front of the body. • No form of locomotion other than running or walking is allowed. • Competitors must take care when crossing roads and give way to all vehicles where applicable. Marshals will monitor major crossings and time penalties, or disqualification may occur for infringement. • No individual support vehicles or non-participant escort runners are allowed. • Runners must wear closed-in shoes. • Competitors must follow designated set course, which is manned by marshals. • Organisers reserve the right to accept, reject and cancel entries. • Protests must be made in writing and given to the Race Director within fifteen minutes of the announcement of the provisional results. All decisions of the Race Director will be final. • Race officials shall have the ultimate and final authority to remove a competitor from the race if the competitor is judged to be physically incapable of continuing the race without the risk of injury. • Each entrant must sign the indemnity declaration on the Entry Form before the event.
