Date: Race Internet Registrations: Race schedule: Race Description: The course is a beach start from Marengo Beach heading 100m straight out through the surf and turning left around a clearly positioned buoy. Continue east to the second buoy located 200m off Point Bunbry, then another buoy a further 200m east, before continuing east to the 4th buoy 100m off the shoreline adjacent with Wild Dog Road. Negotiate the surf into the beach and carry your craft around the shoreline flag and head straight back to the 5th buoy located 100m off the shoreline in front of the Apollo Bay Surf Lifesaving Club. Turn right and head for the finish line, a 30m run up the beach with your craft. Race Categories: Competitors can enter and collect prizes in only ONE category. Once a competitor has competed in the event, they cannot change categories. Prizes/Medallions will be awarded to ALL RACE CATEGORIES (1st, 2nd & 3rd). Race Confirmation & Race Kit:

Race
Rules: • No cockpit kayak is to be used by competitors and all craft must be a form of sit on top craft, which is airtight sealed. • All craft will be scrutineered at Marengo Beach prior to event start. All craft will be viewed 5 minutes before start of race and any craft without scrutineer pass will be automatically disqualified and not permitted to race. • Competitors must follow the designated set course, which is manned, by water marshals and surf lifesavers. • Paddlers are only permitted to paddle once. No multiple category entries are allowed. • All craft must be single paddler craft. No double ski’s or multiple paddler kayaks will be permitted. • No extraneous aids are allowed. This includes, but is not limited to engines, sails and personal support teams. • Wetsuits are permissible. • Competitors will be required to have an official mark and race number on their arm, which must remain on the individual throughout the event. No competitor shall be recorded as a finisher unless carrying the official mark and number on their arm. • Organisers reserve the right to accept, reject and cancel entries. • Protests must be made in writing and given to the Race Director within fifteen minutes of the announcement of the provisional results. All decisions of the Race Director will be final. • Race officials shall have the ultimate and final authority to remove a competitor from the race if the competitor is judged to be physically incapable of continuing the race without the risk of injury. • Each entrant must sign the indemnity declaration on the Entry Form before the event. If under 18, the parent or guardian must sign. The organisers reserve the right to reject or cancel any entry at any time. |

Registration Costs: Early Bird Registration Registration from $600 Total prize money* $400 Men $200 Women *Any surf ski or sit on top kayak may be used to compete in ‘The Paddle Classic’ and receive 1st, 2nd & 3rd place medals and ‘Champion of Champions’ points. HOWEVER, to create a level playing field, all cash prize money will be only given to competitors using a SLSA approved racing surf ski. Therefore, the cash prize money is for the 1st three fastest male times and the 1st three fastest female times, from all race categories combined, using SLSA approved racing surf ski’s. Cash prize money has been allocated based on volume of male and female entries
