Race Description:
The Paddle classic is an 8km Surf Ski or ‘sit on top’ Kayak race, which requires competitors to negotiate moderate (<4ft) breaking waves on 4 occasions.

The course is a beach start from Marengo Beach heading 100m straight out through the surf and turning left around a clearly positioned buoy. Continue east to the second buoy located 200m off Point Bunbry, then another buoy a further 200m east, before continuing east to the 4th buoy 100m off the shoreline adjacent with Wild Dog Road. Negotiate the surf into the beach and carry your craft around the shoreline flag and head straight back to the 5th buoy located 100m off the shoreline in front of the Apollo Bay Surf Lifesaving Club. Turn right and head for the finish line, a 30m run up the beach with your craft.

Race Categories:
Male Open 16yrs – 39yrs, 40+ Masters
Female Open 16+yrs

Competitors can enter and collect prizes in only ONE category. Once a competitor has competed in the event, they cannot change categories.

Prizes/Medallions will be awarded to ALL RACE CATEGORIES (1st, 2nd & 3rd).
