Register in Person: You can register in Person on the Day - You must register at least 1 hour before race start.
The team with the combined best results from the following events listed below, will be crowned “Team of Champions” and win the honour of holding the perpetual “Team of Champions” shield for the next 12 months.
The team must have a minimum of 2 competitors in all the following 6 races, to be deemed eligible:
• Wild Dog Run
• Great Ocean Swim
• The BIG Board Paddle
• The Paddle Classic
• Dash for Cash
• Otway Adventure Race (Double Points)*
Team results will be tallied in two ways -
1. PERFORMANCE- In each race, points will be awarded to the two highest ranked finishers from each team. The points will be weighted on their performance against the two highest ranked finishers from all the other teams. Except for the Otway Adventure Race, where points will be weighted on the result of the whole team and worth double points.
2. PARTICIPATION- Points will be awarded to each team on how many team members participate and complete the following 5 races:
• Wild Dog Run (all 10 team members can participate)
• Great Ocean Swim (all 10 team members can participate)
• The BIG Board Paddle (a maximum of 4 team members can participate)
• The Paddle Classic (a maximum of 4 team members can participate)
• Dash for Cash (all 10 team members can participate)
The ‘Team of Champions’ competitor results are only compared against other ‘Team of Champions’ competitors for the overall title.
* Note on Otway Adventure Race: Teams in the ‘Team of Champions’ category can have a maximum 7 athletes per team participate in the Otway Adventure Race with 1 team member completing each stage in a relay style. These team members can be changed at every official transition check point. Team members can participate in more than one stage.
